Our Northern California Board of Rabbis is one of the oldest Jewish institutions in Northern California. Over the years, it has adapted to meet the needs of new generations and once again we find ourselves at a critical juncture. An immediate concern is a reduction in funding from the San Francisco Jewish Federation. This funding challenge is coupled with the changing roles and needs of rabbis and the evolving nature of the organized Jewish community in the Bay Area.
With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that we have engaged Rabbi Ted Riter to lead us through a study and redesign process for the Board of Rabbis. Ted most recently concluded a two year Interim Rabbi position with Sha’ar Zahav, as he helped them rethink their mission and reposition for a new generation of San Francisco Judaism. He continues his work both locally and globally as he consults with organizations and coaches individuals going through transitions. For more on Ted, please visit his website: www.tedriter.com. He also encourages you to reach out to him directly: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Over the next few months, Ted will meet privately with colleagues, co-facilitate focus groups, and help us design the next iteration of the Board of Rabbis. Stay tuned for future updates.
